Tips & Tricks
- good preparation is half the battle and, above all, anticipation is known to be the best form of joy, but everyone has to decide for themselves - don't be misled by different statements, everyone handles it differently and everyone should be satisfied for themselves, just look for the best for you out of all the tips and information
- with a little training (day hikes) in advance, anyone can master the path
- you should listen to your body, start slowly and warm up quickly
- max. 8 kg, deal intensively with the packing list, you don't need much, there is the possibility to wash or buy something everywhere
- the feet are the most important and need good care, I swear by deer tallow and a small black roll treatment in the evening (is also very good for the calves)
- Mask off pressure points on the foot as soon as you notice them, preferably with firm tape, if there is already a blister, mask with blister plaster and a thick layer of firm tape over it - this stays on until it falls off on its own, then the blister has healed
- Sturdy shoes, but they don't have to be mountain boots, but a good profile is important (trail running shoes or light hiking shoes), break in hiking shoes properly (several different tours)
- Horse balm is great for legs
- drink a lot (I use water bladder magnesium bottle or similar)
- In order to avoid the large stream of overnight guests, it is best to always look for a place before or after the officially specified end of the stage - works great
- don't let the running speed of others stress you out, but go your own way, you meet again and again anyway
- I wanted to take breaks in the cities, but things turned out very differently, I was totally stressed out by the hustle and bustle and quickly moved on, my CONCLUSION: Pilgrimages are difficult to combine with sightseeing
